"Liam Crilly wasn't always the fastest but he was the most consistent. Four wins and seven other podiums gave him the crown from George Haynes, who won twice. Martin Dower matched Crilly for wins but wasn't able to back up his victories with other strong results and was restricted to third in the championsihip.
